Arroyo Seco Weekend 2017 just wrapped up and we had such a great time, we’re already planning for Arroyo Seco Weekend 2018. Given the success of Arroyo Seco Weekend in its first year we are fully expecting the festival to return to Pasadena next year. Everyone who attended seemed to enjoy the festival and the crowds were impressive given that 2017 was the music festival's first year. Personally, we had a fantastic time, which is why we're already looking forward to next year! Consider this your Arroyo Seco Weekend 2018 preview, where we will keep you updated on dates, lineup, hotel prices and more. This past year Goldenvoice released the Arroyo Seco Weekend lineup in mid-March, March 14th to be exact. It seems plausible that they will announce the lineup around the same time in 2018, or perhaps move it up a bit. Most Goldenvoice lineups come out with more advanced notice prior to the festival - for example, Coachella is in April and the lineup is released in January of each year, Firefly is in June and the lineup is also typically released in January (sometimes February). It wouldn't shock me if the Arroyo Seco Weekend 2018 lineup was released in February, but for now I am just guessing.
As for lineup predictions, I'm guessing they will continue the same trend of booking one big legacy act and one contemporary artist as headliners. Bruce Springsteen or Fleetwood Mac (rumored to begin touring in June of next year) would be great at the top of the lineup. In the Mumford & Sons slot, I could see someone like The Lumineers, Phoenix or perhaps even Arcade Fire. It's always tough to predict lineups early in a festival’s life. Lineups can change so much year to year, especially in their first five years, but given the big crowds and good vibes it seems like Arroyo Seco Weekend can continue to be the festival for those who appreciate live music with actual instruments going forward (sorry EDM bros).
2017 Tickets went on sale when the lineup was released in mid-March. As I previously mentioned it wouldn't surprise me if the lineup was released in February next year. If the lineup is released earlier, it's likely that tickets would also go on sale the same week. I would begin looking for tickets to come out in late February / early March for Arroyo Seco Weekend 2018. If you are like us and you do not live in the LA or Pasadena area, you may want to use our Arroyo Seco Weekend Hotels Page. We track hotel prices daily for Arroyo Seco Weekend based on our predicted dates and can alert you when a hotel drops below a certain price point. We also provide useful information including distance from the venue and price history for previous years. Generally, Arroyo Seco hotels are in the $125-$175 range depending on where you stay. If you prefer to stay in Hollywood or near the beach, you can expect this rate to be higher. This year we stayed in Arcadia, right by the Gold Line Metro Station, and it made getting to and from Arroyo Seco Weekend extremely easy. In general, with hotels the earlier you book, the better the price, so I would suggest at least browsing hotels early and potentially booking a refundable room. By doing this, you lock in a room at the current price point in case prices rise, but can still cancel if you find a better deal.
