What should I bring with me to Osheaga?

If you are interested in all the things we think you should take with you to Osheaga you should check out our full article on it at http://www.eventtrk.com/events/56/osheaga-festival-2017/212/osheaga-essentials-what-you-should-bring-with-you. I will offer a few quick thoughts on the allowed list, and what you should bring.

Blankets – If you are looking for a clean place to sit down than bringing a blanket (or beach towel) isn’t a bad idea. Just know at Oshaga that you will be spending a lot of time on your feet – walking between stages, standing during shows, walking to food vendors, waiting in line to get in, etc. The point is sometimes it is nice to have a place to sit down, and you may not want it to be the ground, especially if its rained recently. Blankets are a great option to set up back away from the stage so you can just sit down for a bit and enjoy some tunes. Just don’t set up your blanket close to the stage in a crowd – that is poor festival etiquette.

Camelbak – I am a big proponent of bringing a Camelbak with you to Osheaga. It basically cuts down on your trips to go get water and allows you to have more time at the stages watching performances. It also gives you a better chance of staying hydrated as you will always have water on you. Lastly, you will use this for more than just Osheaga. If you go to any other music festivals, hiking, or other outdoor activities you will use it; it’s worth it.

Backpacks – I am in the pro backpack camp. It’s just nice to have so you can stash a hoodie for later, a poncho in case it starts raining, or even a place to put your sunglasses once the day turns to night. It can be a bit of a pain carrying it all day, but in general I think its worth it. Osheaga does offer a bag check and lockers, so you could go this route if you don’t want to carry it all day. Lockers are just $15 a day and you get all day access to it so you can come and go as you please. I really recommend bringing a backpack and getting a locker, it’s a major convenience.

Alcohol / Illegal Substances – Obviously you cannot bring these in with you but almost everyone does. Sneaking this stuff into festivals is fairly easy, just use a little bit of creativity and think of where they won’t be searching you when you go through the gates at Osheaga.

There you have it, everything you can and cannot bring with you to Osheaga. Admittedly, a lot of these are obvious, but some aren’t so it is good to know what isn’t allowed before you go. Don’t be the guy who makes your group run back to the hotel because you brought something you can’t part with to Osheaga.
