So you came to Coachella to have a good time? Coachella just isn’t enough action for you? Well, you aren’t alone. Coachella is full of events outside the music festival itself. Here is a list of some of the big parties and events going on at Coachella during either weekend. There is a wide range of events: some are free to RSVP, some require a ticket, and some require that you know someone. The parties also range from pool parties at small boutique hotels to large, elaborate parties in the middle of the dessert. Coachella parties aren’t all announced yet for 2017 so be sure to check back as more parties are announced.
NOTE: If you have an event going on during Coachella and want it on this list feel free to write me at Shawn@EventTrk.com
Where: Hilton Palm Springs (Located at 400 E Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs, CA 92262.)
When: All three days of Coachella both weekends, typically the Coachella day parties run 12 – 6
Looking to see some huge DJs at a small local pool party in Palm Springs? You are in luck! Coachella every year has some monster DJs at the Hilton Palm Springs pool during all three days of Coachella. You can see this years lineup, which is as impressive as always. This is a ticketed event so you do need to purchase passes to attend. If you want to attend Weekend One go here and for Weekend Two go here.
Where: The Palm Springs Air Museum ( Located at 745 N Gene Autry Trail, Palm Springs, CA 92262)
When: April 13th, 2017 at 9:00 p.m.
Goldenvoice is bringing it this year with their Localchella show! The Young Turks in Palm Springs featrures some great Coachella artists and gives you a chance to get the Coachella party going the night before the main event. It’s tempting to go just to avoid the inevitable Sampha conflictchella I know is coming. Anyways, if you want to attend this party it’s in downtown Palm Springs and will get going at 9:00 p.m. the night before Coachella. The Palm Springs Air Museum is an awesome venue as there will be plenty of room for activities and unlike many Coachella parties this one seems about the music and not about being seen. It is a ticketed event, but tickets are quite reasonable at just $30. If you want to purchase passes you can go here.
When: Saturday April 15th, 10:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m.
Where: Thermal Airport (Located at 56-850 Higgins Dr, Thermal, CA 92274)
Probably the most infamous of all Coachella parties. It isn’t official sponsored by Coachella but Neon Carnival occurs annually on Saturday night of the first weekend of Coachella. It is the swanky celebrity party where you have a shot of seeing Leonardo DiCaprio as well as every aspiring actor or actress from the Los Angeles area. So what is Coachella’s Neon Carnival? Well, it’s like what it sounds like: it’s literally a carnival at night. It has a Ferris wheel, carnival games, and everything else you would expect at a carnival.
You need to know someone to get a wristband, so getting access to Neon Carnival isn’t going to be possible for everyone. If you do go here are a few tips and thoughts on what you will experience:
When: Sunday April 16th 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. (Sunday of Coachella Weekend One)
Where: Musicland Motel, 1342 S Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs CA 92264
No need to RSVP to this party, just show up early as it is open to the public and ia first come first serve event. New York based social networking platform for creatives and store, VFILES is hosting a Pool Party at the Mountain Dew Label Motel on Sunday, April 16th 2017 from 1-4pm. The party will include a brunch, the first ever remote VFILES TMI studio, special guest DJ performances, and an exclusive pop up shop with VFILES and Mountain Dew co-branded merch, which will be open all weekend.
When: Saturday April 15th and Sunday April 16th (Sat/Sun of Coachella Weekend One) 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Where: Musicland Hotel, 1342 S Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92264
G-Eazy and pool party? Sounds good to me. Label Motel is a two day event during Weekend One of Coachella that has all sorts of stuff going on. Here's what you can expect:
RSVP: You can RSVP to the bash by going here. You're RSVP is good for both days of the event, which is free and open to the public. Note that the party is 18+ to enter and 21+ to enjoy those adult beverages.
When: Saturday April 15th, 11:00 a.m. – Sundown (Saturday of Coachella Weekend One)
Where: Saguaro Palm Springs (Located at 1800 E Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92264)
The Saguaro is throwing its usual Coachella pool party on Saturday of the first weekend of Coachella 2017. If you’ve never been to the Saguaro it’s one of the more swanky hotels in Palm Springs and regularly hosts pool parties. If you’d rather get to Coachella late that day or just want to party you can purchase tickets for the festivities here. Currently they are $25 a person but will jump to $35 once the current batch runs out. The DJ list thus far includes Dr. Fresch, Hotel Garuda, Point Point and “Surprise Guests”. The Saguaro is always a good time so if you are looking for a pool party this isn’t a bad option.
When: Saturday, April 15th 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Saturday of Coachella Weekend 1)
Where: Cree Estate (Located at 67698 Carey Road, Cathedral City, CA 92234)
I’m still confused why this party is called “Indio Invasion” if the party is held in Cathedral City. This is another pool party held on Saturday of Coachella Weekend One, running from 1 to 4 p.m. This year the party will feature Charlie XCX doing a special DJ set. You can RSVP on their official website here.
Where: Ace Hotel & Swim (703 E Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, CA 92264)
When: All three days of Coachella Weekend One (Friday: 2-5 p.m., Saturday & Sunday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
Relax & Rejuvenate at Spiritual Gangster's Zen Den this Coachella. The 3-day event will feature refreshing hip hop yoga sessions, a festival-ready pop-up shop, inspirational aura readings & more! The event is free to attend and is located at the swanky Ace hotel near downtown Palm Springs. To attend you must be 21 or older and you do need to RSVP, which can be done at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When: April 13th – 16th
Vestal Village is a private party at Coachella annually that can only be accessed if you are invited. It is held at a private location in Palm Springs and is a communal environment with camping, parties, day time pool parties, and more. If you want all the information you should go to their website located here as there really is a lot going on. Vestal Village is more an experience than simply a party, and you really only attend this if you aren’t going to Coachella. The music lineup is kept secret until the day of the aprty but in years past it has gotten some fairly big artists such as Robert DeLong and Shiny Toy Guns.
When: April 16th and 23rd (Sunday of both weekends of Coachella), 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Ace Hotel & Swim (703 E Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, CA 92264)
The Do Over is yet another pool party for Coachella. This one takes place at the ACE Hotel in Palm Springs and is open to guests of the hotel as well as those who RSVP. You can RSVP for the Coachella 2017 party by going to their official website here. This party is 21 and up and will run from noon to 6 p.m. both Sundays of Coachella. The ACE is a swanky place to have a pool party and is fairly popular with the posh LA crowd so this one usually fills up fairly quickly. If you want to attend during Coachella 2017 I suggest you RSVP early.
Where: TBD but typically at the Hard Rock Palm Springs
Full disclosure, the full details of this event for Coachella 2017 aren’t up yet, but it is one of the bigger pool parties during Coachella. If you are interested in keeping tabs on the event I suggest you check their official website here for updates. Typically this is a 21 and up Coachella party that is open to the public. You do need to have tickets, which can be snagged at their official website. Typically the party is a Coachella kickoff party and will happen the Thursday before Coachella weekend one. You can see the sample lineup from years past below.
Coachella parties aren’t for everyone, but if you are interested in attending them you always have a big selection to choose from. Those are all the parties that are announced as of now, but more are sure to come as we get closer to Coachella 2017. Again, if you have a party of event you would like listed for Coachella 2017 feel free to contact me at Shawn@EventTrk.com. Enjoy your Coachella 2017 partying!blog comments powered by Disqus
