Firefly 2017 is now only a couple of weeks away and we have now gotten the official schedule and set times. You can see the day by day schedule for Firefly here. As usual anytime you have as many artists in one festival you are sure to have some tough conflicts. Here are the worst conflicts and hardest decisions coming for Firefly attendees:
This one is a toughy to close out Firefly on Sunday evening. The Shins and Snakehips play 8:00 - 9:15 and Phantogram goes on at 8:15 - 9:15. I personally go with The Shins: it's too hard to pass on hearing 'New Slang' live, and there is more exclusivity with seeing the Shins versus the other two.
This one takes place on Friday of Firefly at 9:30 - 10:45. Each band plays the same time so it is a 100% overlap. I am partial to Miike Snow, but it does suck to have to pass on OK Go who doesn't play a ton of festivals. Either should be a fun show on Friday night of Firefly.
A late night conflict to close out Thursday of Firefly as Glass Animals will play 10:45 - 12:00 and GRYFFIN will go 11:00 - 12:00 a.m. After seeing Glass Animals at Coachella and experiecing how much fun they are I would go with them, but it does suck to miss out on GRYFFIN.
Overall I think Firefly did a really nice job balancing their acts and avoiding too many conflicts. I have definitely seen worse scheduling conflicts at other festivals this year. Of course this is just my opinion so hopefully you feel the same way with the 2017 Firefly schedule!
