Gov Ball 2017 Lineup

Governors Ball today released their lineup and it is a doozy.  Probably the most eye catching name on the lineup card is Tool, who will be playing their first New York City show in over a decade. The founds of Governors Ball have wanted Tool since the festival began years ago and 2017 will be the year they finally got their white whale.  Chance the Rapper, Phoenix and Childish Gambino round out the headliners for this years festival.  Chance the Rapper has made a quick ascension to the top spot after being pretty far down the undercard just a few years ago.  Childish Gambino is another nice get for the festival as he has very limited festival appearances thus far on the year and was a notable absence from this years Coachella lineup.

Of course, there is a lot more to Governors Ball than just the headliners - this year the undercard for Governors Ball is quite impressive.  Perhaps most interesting in Mark Ronson vs. Kevin Parker - I have no idea what that means but goddamn do I want to see it.  Other big names include Lorde, who appears to be playing every festival this year, Flume, Wu-Tang and Cage the Elephant.  True to it's normal self, Governors Ball features music from all genres and has both emerging and big name artists.  Governors Ball will return to Randall's Island this June 2nd - 4th.  Tickets are on sale now.
