If you know you are going to be at Life Is Beautiful next year then you should really consider taking advantage of the Life Is Beautiful presale / advanced sale. Essentially any music festival presale comes down to this: you save money as it is the cheapest time of the year to get tickets, but you need to buy far in advance with no knowledge of the lineup. This guide will go over everything you need to know about the Life Is Beautiful presale: when is it, how much are tickets, does it sell out and more Let’s get to it.
Life Is Beautiful holds their presale usually right after the festival has wrapped up. For example, Life Is Beautiful 2016 ran from 9/23/16 – 9/25/16. The presale for 2017 happened on 9/29, just four days after Life Is Beautiful finished. So you can expect a presale to be announced shortly after the festival.
Obviously ticket prices are always evolving for music festivals, but here are the prices as of 2017 for the Life Is Beautiful presale:
Note that these prices do not include the fees, including a notorious 9% Live Entertainment Tax all Las Vegas events include. As you can see during the Life Is Beautiful presale you can grab either GA or VIP passes.
Life Is Beautiful has a couple of sales after the presale. First will be the early bird sale, which happens right before the lineup comes out. Essentially the early bird is the same thing as the presale, just closer to the lineup announcement and it saves you less money. There still is no lineup, but it is in April so you may have a better idea if you can attend Life Is Beautiful or not.
Second is the general sale that happens once Life Is Beautiful announces their lineup in April. Note that LIB uses a tiered ticket system during the general sale. This means they release tickets at a certain price, and once a certain amount of tickets sell out the price goes up. Here were the general admission prices for Life Is Beautiful 2017:
And the VIP prices:
So as you can see the VIP saves you a decent amount of money for purchasing early, and it guarantees you a ticket. Keep in mind LIB sold out quite quickly in 2017 so you can avoid this during the general sale by purchasing presale.
Negative – at least not in previous years. This could change but as of last year you cannot use the payment plan during the Life Is Beautiful presale.
Not really; essentially Life Is Beautiful has put up the presale for a day and then taken it down. That is, you can buy tickets at presale price for one day. In years past they haven’t sold out, you could purchase at anytime that day, but once the day is over the tickets are gone until April when they go on sale again.
Essentially you are purchasing passes a year in advance so you better be sure you can attend Life Is Beautiful. Of course you can always sell your tickets on Stubhub or Seatgeek, but if you do this there is always a chance of not getting your money back. The other disadvantage is you obviously don’t know the lineup because that won’t come out until April. If you have confidence in the LIB lineup then I say go for it, if you are more cautious you may want to wait.
There are multiple ways to make sure you don’t miss the Life Is Beautiful presale. First, you can follow LIB on any form of social media and look for the announcement. Second, you can register at Event Track and add Life Is Beautiful to your tracked events when you register. This will sign you up for our Life Is Beautiful Newsletter, which we send to you anytime there is major LIB news (like a presale). As I mentioned, the presale only lasts one day so make sure you don’t miss it!
If you know you can attend Life Is Beautiful next year go with the presale: it saves you the most money and you can take care of it early. The Early Bird I don't find as enticing as it only saves you $20, but you could just wait a week to make sure you like the lineup. Regardless you should do what is best for you. Look for the presale in late September and take advantage of it if it works for you!
